Are Electrologists Licensed in Texas?
No. Texas does not currently regulate or license electrologists. There is no state-issued electrology license in Texas.
Because there is no licensing requirement, it is important for consumers to ask about an electrologist's training, experience, sanitation procedures, and years in practice before beginning treatment.

What is Electrolysis Hair Removal and how does it work?
Electrolysis is the only FDA-recognized method of permanent hair removal. Unlike laser hair removal, which permanently reduces hair growth, electrolysis permanently destroys the cells responsible for hair growth, making it effective for all hair colors, all skin tones, and every hair type, including gray, blonde, red, and white hair.
During treatment, a new sterile, single-use disposable probe is gently inserted into the natural opening of the hair follicle. A precise electrical current is delivered to permanently destroy the hair growth cells without damaging the surrounding skin. The treated hair is then carefully removed with tweezers.
Because hair grows in different cycles, only hairs that are actively growing can be permanently treated during each visit. For this reason, multiple treatments are necessary to achieve permanent hair removal.

Because hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments are necessary to permanently treat all follicles.
